There is a number of sea turtles in the ocean. There is the Flatback Turtle, Green Turtle, Hawksbill Turtle, the Kemp's Ridley Turtle, and the Loggerhead Turtle to name a few. But, I am interested in the largest living turtle on the planet who does not have a hard shell. This turtle is the Leatherback Turtle.
The Leatherback turtle is also called the Lute turtle or Leathery turtle. The Leatherback turtle's front flippers can grow up to 8.9 ft (2.7 meters).
Letherback turtles are one of the deepest-diving marine animals. It has been recorded diving to depths as great as 1,280 meters or (4,200 ft) and has been found throughout the world from the Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, Gulf of Alaska, and the South China Sea. They feed primarily on jellyfish who can also live in deep cold water.
