Banner Suzi's Jigsaw on Evolution, Natural Selecrion, and Creationism

Learners Description:

This activity is based on the Elliot Aronson's Jigsaw Classroom model and is appropriate for junior high school students to adult learners. This learning activity is to provoke thought regarding evolution.

Instructions:

There will be three groups. Depending on how many students there are you will split up into your expert groups to learn about the subject area. You should work together, there is links to information under each topic. After after each group finishes, you will present and address each of the following questions below:

  1. Is it based on scientific evidence? Why or why not?
  2. What is the theory and explain the picture?
  3. Give two examples of it.
  4. How old is the belief or theory?
  5. Do you believe this theory or belief is true or not true and why?

At the end of class and all three groups have demonstrated and shared their knowledge, we will discuss science and evolution, natural selection, and creationism.
